From uncertainty to informed action

I use data, causal reasoning, and structured experimentation to understand complex systems and make better decisions.

Question Evidence Analysis Decision

Trying is inevitable. What matters is whether each attempt informs the next decision.

One way of working, across different settings

I work on consequential problems where the information is incomplete, the system is changing, and decisions still have to be made. That work has taken me across causal research, public-data infrastructure, entrepreneurship, consulting, and public communication.

I am completing a Ph.D. in Political Science at Northwestern and hold an M.S. in Applied Statistics.

Research

Evolving networks

Causal inference when the system itself changes

Understanding interventions that change the systems around them

Most causal methods assume the relationships through which effects spread stay fixed. My dissertation asks what happens when an intervention changes the network itself.

Data systems

300,000+

observations, from more than a decade of dispersed public records

Turning fragmented records into usable evidence

For a National Science Foundation project, I built the data infrastructure end to end — collection, reconciliation, validation — across more than a decade of inconsistent reporting.

Entrepreneurship

From launch to repeatable growth

a consumer business built under real constraints

Building and operating a coffee business

Helped build and operate a consumer coffee business, leading growth strategy, digital marketing, pricing, performance analysis, and recurring decisions under limited resources.

Communication

community reached through a social-science platform

Communicating complex ideas at scale

Across teaching, public analysis, and digital media, making technical ideas accessible without making them simplistic — including statistics taught to more than 150 students.

Data consulting

I work with research teams and organizations on problems involving study design, complex or fragmented data, statistical modeling, causal inference, and the communication of quantitative findings.

My consulting work at Northwestern has reinforced a principle that also guides my research: the most sophisticated method is useful only when it answers the actual decision in front of the client.

Current focus

How should we evaluate a decision when it changes not only outcomes, but also the system through which those outcomes unfold?

My current research develops causal methods for settings in which policies reshape evolving networks. The broader aim is to make credible evaluation possible when interventions, relationships, and behavior change together over time.

Emerging focus

Human judgment in AI-mediated systems

I am increasingly interested in how people delegate judgment to AI: when AI complements expertise, when it encourages overreliance, and how repeated human–AI interaction reshapes trust, behavior, and institutions.

Let's talk

I am interested in consequential problems where the evidence is incomplete, the system is changing, and the answer must still lead to action.
